ZILLAHLAKES
Progress Update
Good
news abounds as Wine Country Village vision takes shape
July
15, 2008
Nearly 30 homes are on their way to completion in the first
Phase of Zillah Lakes. 10 of the thirty homes are ready
for occupancy now and the first new homeowners are moving
into the innovative wine country village. The Lake edge
has been reshaped for a more naturalistic appearance, the
first glimpses of the meandering walking path, and site
landscaping is beginning to give shape to the entire project.
Corps
of Engineers
The most recent news from the US Army Corps of Engineers
augurs well for completion of Zillah Lakes’ golf course,
lakes, and town center in the near future. These amenities
have been “on hold” for over two years as the
Corps determined the future of the former irrigation ditch
running through the property. Recent word indicates that
our mitigation plan has finally been approved and a final
permit is being processed. Hooray!
Zillah
Lakes Entry Will Be a Sign for the Times
After a long winter, our main boulevard is finally connected
with pavement to the Yakima Valley Highway. We’ve
also recently begun work our vineyard-themed entry monuments,
completing the entry landscaping. This will be an exciting
and innovative adventure in signage that will be as much
a work of art as it is an address. Bottom Line: Zillah Lakes
will soon have a MUCH prettier face.

Landscaping,
meandering path, public amenities
Final approval of our stormwater and runoff plan now allows
us to begin landscaping in earnest, which will include in
addition to sod and sprinkler systems, street trees, street
lights, landscaping of the meandering path and installation
of median trees, fountains and other amenities around the
town center.

Time
for a Grand Opening? Not Quite...
With all the improvements we are almost ready for primetime...
but not quite. However, for the select few, a “Pre-Grand
Opening” on August 23-24 will allow
folks to get a sneak preview of everything. With 6 model
homes completed, including several “staged”
with furniture selections from Isaak’s in Yakima,
and Staged by Design in Kent, new homebuyers will be able
to see the homes in all their variety as well as glimpse
the spectacular vision of community that is Zillah Lakes.
It’s an exciting time.
A
full-regalia Grand Opening
(now plan- ned for September 20-21) will
include a number of delights, including special provisions
for out-of-towners for wine country activities, food &
wine, entertainment and other fun for that “perfectly
balanced” lifestyle in the heart of the Yakima Valley
Wine Country.
Put that one on your calendar.
